November

We got  teensy bit of snow at the beginning of November, and Lacey insisted on going outside to make snow angels. In the end, she decided they were "grass angels" because she pulled up all the snow in her effort of make one. I'm pretty sure that we took more time suiting up to go outside than we spent actually outside.

In the past few months, Amy has turned into an absolute MENACE. Here she is, very proudly sitting in a puddle on hot chocolate.

And very proudly dumping a bowl of milk on the table  beneath her.

And in her third outfit of the day, but there was nothing to dump this time. Needless to say, chairs may no longer be left around the table. Kind of annoying, but the way it has to be until this little miss stops climbing on the table.

November is also time for turkey day! The Bobos and Grahams have been getting together for Thanksgiving since before Phil was born, and we invited those in both families who are in the area to our hours to celebrate and give thanks with us. It's nice to have a house that will sort of accommodate such a crowd. We ended up having a Bobo-Graham-Oliphant-Edwards-Ho Thanksgiving party.

Lacey got to sit at the little kid's table.

Some Hos.

At some point during the festivities, some kid observed, "There's the adult's table, this is the kid's table, and there's the little kid's table." It wigged Phil out to realize that he was sitting at the adult's table when he's been sitting at the little kid's table all his life.

Eventually, all that was left was a bunch of boys, and Lacey was delighted to play with them and their electronics.

This picture doesn't have anything to do with Thanksgiving, but I thought it was cute. These two are snuggled into a couple folding chairs watching Mickey's Christmas Carol on my computer.

October

October was a fun month, mostly because my parents came for a visit. I didn't get a lot of pictures, but here are a few that I got of our trip to Manti to visit Grandma and Grandpa Simmons.

Lacey posing.

Hey, where's Perry?

Silly girl.

There really isn't a whole lot for a 3-year-old to do at G and G's house... so she spent a lot of time playing on Grandma's kindle (her grandma's, not my grandma's, in case I needed to clarify that).

And my sweet little Amy.

We came back from Manti on Halloween Day. Unfortunately, Lacey came down with a low-grade fever about three hours before it was time to go trick-or-treating. Being the wonderful mother that I am, I doped her up on fever medicine and let her go anyway. She had fun and was fine anyway.

 My little Minnie Mouse

My little sailor baby.

Also from October...

There was some playing outside in the leaves, when the weather was nice.

Amy wore shorts on her head. I think that she's started to figure out that shorts go on your legs.

Amy loves the crocheted cat.

And Amy climbed in the crock pot. It made me laugh.

Family pictures

In September we took our annual family pictures. I feel very strongly about getting nice family pictures taken every year, and it's a great Christmas present for grandparents who have everything. I love our photographer (her photography blog can be found here). She's fantastic with the kids and very easy going. So, here's a few of our favorite.

It's impossible to get Lacey to just smile naturally.

But her little crazy person look is pretty cute, too.

Awww, Mommy and Daddy love each other.

This photo shoot took place at the beginning of one of Amy's sicknesses (see earlier post). At the time I thought she had a low grade fever, and I thought that she was just teething, but then that night her fever spiked to 104.5... so my poor baby wasn't feeling well, and she smiled exactly one time during the entire photo shoot. Luckily, we got it on camera, and it was perfect.

It's almost required that a photo shoot crumble to tantrums and tears.

And when it did, we had some lovely late afternoon sun in the west to use for silhouette pictures. You can't tell that both kids are screaming their heads off, and it makes a really cute picture.

My poor sick baby

The DAY after Amy's birthday party (which was also the day before Amy's actual birthday), my poor Amy came down with a high fever. It's really no fun to be sick on your birthday, so I was hoping she would have a quick recovery, but the fever was unrelenting. Luckily, we had a a well baby appointment scheduled for the day after her birthday (though, I admit she wasn't exactly well at the time), and the doctor informed us that she had herpengina, (no, not related to herpes, but a variant of hand, foot, and mouth), and had horrible sores all in her mouth and throat. Poor baby. :( It's almost always accompanied by a high fever that last for 5 days (yes, FIVE DAYS OF HIGH FEVER). Anyway, that's an experience that I hope we never have to repeat. I am VERY glad that Lacey did not catch it as well.

Then, a week after the herpengina cleared up, she came down with ANOTHER high fever. It was like marathon sickness month. This one I know was roseola (which Lacey had several months ago), though, because once the fever came down (three days later) she got the tell-tale lacey (not to be confused with Lacey) rash all over her body. It was a really rough few weeks, and here's a video to prove it. This is after the second bout of high fever. She hadn't slept well in two weeks and was very, very tired.

Silly sisters

This is one of my favorite videos of the girls

Lacey made this from a bunch of stuff that she found lying around. Six months ago, it was impressive.

And who can help but love this silly face?

August

I realize that it's been ages and ages since I posted anything. I really have no excuse other than I just haven't done it.

August was so long ago now that trying to find a memory in there is kind of like trying to find that tube of lip balm at the bottom of your diaper bag. Good think I have pictures, or I'd really not remember anything. Oh, wait, I lost most of my August pictures in the madness of switching computers...

But one thing that I KNOW happened in August was that my little Amy turned one! We celebrated with her friend Kayla, who is only a week older, at a Ho Bo birthday party. It was a hot hot day in August, and there was much good food, good company, and cute babies.

I managed to yoink these pictures from Facebook:

For some reason, Amy thought that Kayla's cake looked yummier than her own.
