So, Christmas 2011. We were lucky enough to have my sister and brother here on Christmas morning, and were joined by Phil's parents in the afternoon for dinner and togetherness.
Here's Lacey when Daddy went to get her up . We got her up early so that we could all video chat with Grandma and Grandpa Welker and Uncle Ben in South Carolina before they had to go to church. I think that that is a Christmas tradition that we need to keep up. It's almost like being together, right?
Here's a picture of our new living room--new because of the couch. The couch was a "gift" from my uncle. Since they weren't use it anymore, they gave it to us. It's so nice to have furniture in our front room now! There's some place to sit besides the kitchen table!
And Lacey coming out see what's up. Time to open presents! The vaccum is not new. It just happened to be there because it didn't get put away after we vacuumed the night before.
Lacey in the tutu that Aunt Sarah made her. So cute! She's such a girl.
Lacey and the fun little ceramic tea set from Aunt Sarah, and her new Tinkerbell pajamas. I thought that the pajamas were going to be way too big because they're size 4. Nope, they fit perfectly. They may be a teensy bit big, but that just means that they'll last through the winter.
Baxter and his present from his Grandpa Tyhurst. He needed Virginia Tech shirt to wear.
Phil's favorite gift! I may just be saying that to make myself feel good... It's a t-shirt blanket made from his old metal band t-shirts that he never wears anymore but doesn't want to get rid of. I knew it would be ok to make it since we talked about it a LONG time ago and he thought it was a good idea. He had forgotten that conversation by Christmas, though, so it was a surprise. :)
Christmess.
Brad and Baxter snuggling amid the mess that is Christmas morning.
The girls got these adorable matching dresses from Grandma Welker. So cute!
Amy and Grandpa Bobo.
We had a lovely Christmas dinner of ham, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, and possibly something else that I don't remember, and crock pot chocolate cake and Marie Callendar's apple pie for dessert. It was delicious. And I got out my crystal goblets for the second time ever.
All in all, it was a wonderful Christmas. It was exciting to have our first Christmas in our new home, and have so much family around us. It's such a wonderful way to celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.
